UCF Flexiride manufactures and markets the Flexiride® rubber torsion axle, today's most state of the art concept in axle technology, offering light duty trailer manufacturers a unique alternative to conventional leaf spring axles.

The Flexiride® rubber torsion axle employs special features which give it durability far exceeding that of competitive designs. Because of this design advantage and the increasing market demand for superior ride characteristics available with rubber torsion axles, UCF Flexiride has been growing rapidly. Widely used on horse trailers, boat trailers, motorcycle trailers and utility trailers, this product continues to gain market share.

Flexiride® offers unique product features and advantages over conventional suspensions. The rubber cartridge, a full block of rubber bonded to a metal shaft by The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, operates in shear rather than in compression, offering better dampening effect and a smoother ride. The solid rubber construction also offers superior resistance to abrasive road elements, increasing the life of the axle. The splined spindle arm is adjustable for a range of starting angles. The specially engineered one piece arm/spindle forging minimizes componentry for maximum system integrity and safety.

The Flexiride® rubber torsion axle's simple design ensures that axles are easily built and assembled to give customers the best quality and delivery. Axles are manufactured by our certified licensed axle manufacturers throughout North America to meet customers' specific requirements. Licensees stock the Flexiride® components and build the axles to required track width, frame width and starting angle, reducing lead time. The Flexiride® axles are built to suit, eliminating the need for the Licensees to carry large inventories of axles of varying size and configuration. Available capacities range from 1,400 lbs. to 7,000 lbs.

The Flexiride® components can be manufactured into half axles which are perfect for special applications where full beam axles cannot be used. The half axles operate independently and are one of the lightest suspension systems available on the market. The units are bolted to each side of the trailer, fit any trailer width and are easily aligned. Half axles are sold directly by UCF Flexiride in capacities from 550 lbs. to 3,500 lbs., with or without idler hubs, hydraulic or electric brakes.

Rubber torsion suspension systems, the only type of suspension being used in Europe today, are fast becoming the North American standard as well. The growing percentage of trailers riding on rubber torsion axles and our aggressive marketing philosophy ensure the future growth of UCF Flexiride.
